WELCOME TO THE
SIGNAL BATH

A chic glitch-lit switchboard for notes, maps, readings, and small conspiracies. (Some of them true.)

Neon surveillance Footnote gravity River cartography Old-web ritual

Tip: if this page feels too bright, you’re reading it correctly.

about

I’m jmay — writer-brain, systems-brain, and a collector of sentences. This tilde corner is a small web habitat: reading logs, micro-essays, map-notes, and experiments that prefer handbuilt surfaces to algorithmic feedwater.

Aesthetic commitments: dusk neon, clean typography, deliberate noise, and the occasional footnote that becomes a hallway.

log

now

  • building this site into a switchboard (links + logs + projects)
  • reading: Pynchon / postmodern systems / whatever bites
  • tuning: shell + editor + tiny tools that reduce friction

Update this block whenever you feel like the page should breathe.

recent fragments

  • 2026-03-06 — first login, first neon.

projects

⚡ Footnote Engine

A page that behaves like a novel appendix: recursive notes, cross-links, references to references. A living IJ homage.

Goal: 50 footnotes that are each their own doorway.

🛰️ Bleeding Edge Trace Map

A “who’s watching whom” diagram: surveillance aesthetics, corporate fog, and clean graph-like navigation. Chic paranoia.

Goal: a hyperlinked index of motifs + scenes (no spoilers).

∿ Lost Rivers Atlas

A cartographic cabinet: rivers (literal and metaphorical), memory channels, and the sense that geography is a kind of narrative engine.

Goal: one annotated “river note” per week.

protip: Keep projects small enough that you can finish one in an evening. Big visions; tiny deliveries.
